Nobody works quite like Jake Resnicow.

The event producer has created an empire throwing the biggest Pride celebrations around the world.

From his Utopia Festival in Isla Mujeres to the WorldPride Music Festival heading to Amsterdam next year, this gay CEO is offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences for everyone in the queer community.

Although his scheduled his packed with many of his own festivals, Resnicow is now bringing his talents and vision to Electric Forest for the very first time.

The creative will be incorporating his signature Dreamland experience as part the festival's official Pride takeover, which will include legendary music sets, sickening fashion, and queer joy all around.

Leading up to the iconic Michigan festival, Resnicow exclusively chatted with PRIDE about his majorly successful year, why queer visibility is more vital than ever, and what ravers can expect this weekend in Rothbury. Read below!

PRIDE: Jake, congratulations on everything! You're coming off of WorldPride in Washington, D.C. and turning right around to bring Dreamland to Electric Forest. I know this must be a dream come true for you. How are you feeling at this moment?

Jake Resnicow: Thank you so much. I’m feeling incredibly grateful and energized. Coming off the high of WorldPride in D.C., where we brought together over 70,000 people in celebration of our community, and now stepping into the magic of Electric Forest, it truly feels like something special.

When Alicia Karlin, one of the visionary forces behind Electric Forest, reached out with this opportunity, I knew instantly it was the perfect fit. Dreamland has always been about joy, self-expression, and radical acceptance. Those values align beautifully with what Electric Forest stands for. I’m deeply thankful to Alicia for opening this door and trusting us to bring something meaningful to the Forest.

I’m also so proud of our incredible dancers who keep the vibe high with choreographed shows and infectious energy. They’re the heartbeat of Dreamland and truly bring the fantasy to life. It’s an honor to step into this moment with such a powerful and passionate team.

This is the first time Dreamland is taking over Electric Forest’s Sunday Pride Takeover. What should fans expect at this exciting activation?

They can expect something truly unforgettable. We’re bringing the full Dreamland experience into the Forest. Think surprise performances, stunning visuals, and a wave of love and energy that will close out the weekend on the highest note. It’s going to feel like stepping into another world where everyone belongs.

Pride is a huge reason as to why Electric Forest is so welcoming and special for everyone. Why did you want to team up with Electric Forest this year?

Electric Forest has always stood out as a place that celebrates freedom, creativity, and community. The values of the festival align so closely with what we aim to create through Dreamland. When the opportunity came up to collaborate, it felt like the perfect match. Together, we’re not just hosting a Pride celebration. We’re creating a space where every person can feel seen and celebrated.

I know firsthand that you put blood, sweat, and tears into all of your thrilling and inclusive projects. What do you hope audiences take away once they attend Dreamland at Electric Forest?

I hope they feel seen and celebrated. Pride isn’t just a party. It’s a statement. It’s a reminder that queer joy is powerful and necessary. I want every person who walks into our space to feel like they’re part of something bigger. Something rooted in love, expression, and the freedom to be exactly who you are.

Pride is so important this year and it's so magical that Electric Forest makes it a priority to show love to the LGBTQ+ community. Why do you think it's important for queer people to show up and show out at these festivals?

We deserve to take up space! In a time when our rights and identities are being challenged, showing up proudly and visibly is an act of resistance. Festivals like Electric Forest are powerful platforms. When queer people are front and center, it not only inspires others but also shifts the culture. Our presence matters.

As if you weren't busy enough, you're taking Dreamland back to New York City for another epic Central Park Pride celebration at the end of June. How excited are you to keep that tradition alive?

I’m beyond excited. Central Park has become such a special tradition for us. There’s something magical about bringing thousands of people together right in the heart of the city to celebrate Pride. Every year it grows, and every year it reminds me why we do this. It’s a celebration of our past, present, and future.

What message would you love to send to people in the LGBTQ+ community who may be having a hard time expressing their Pride during this challenging political climate?

You are not alone. Pride isn’t about being loud all the time. Sometimes it’s just about surviving and holding onto who you are. Whether you’re out or not, whether you’re celebrating in the streets or quietly at home, your identity is valid. You are loved and when you’re ready, there’s a whole community here waiting to welcome you.

You've achieved so much. It looks like 2025 is shaping up to be your best year yet, but what are you manifesting? Do you have any other projects you'd like to tackle next?

I’m dreaming bigger than ever. We’re planning to bring Dreamland to new cities and launch more platforms to support queer artists and emerging talent. I’m also working on creating more immersive wellness and community-focused experiences. The goal is always the same. To uplift, to connect, and to inspire. 2025 is just the beginning.
